Remote Control Shades Raise More Than Just Eyebrows
These days there are so many new innovations coming out that people no longer ask, "what if...", but more so say "I wonder where I can get...". It seems for every need there is a device that can solve it. Some things were invented for one thing, say a luxury, but then became a necessity for something else. Take remote control shades for example. Many people marveled at this concept, imagine having a remote control to open your windows shades or windows blinds at the flick of a switch/button. It sounds like a fun idea but there are applications of this technology that are not just "fun".
Remote control shades are becoming a sign of the times. Homes are now being built with much higher windows, windows that are small but atop a vaulted ceiling, or windows that go from the floor to the top of a very high ceiling. Installing shades is one challenge but trying to get these shades to retract is another challenge all together. With remote control shades, however, which have essentially an installed motor that rolls the shades up and activated by a battery powered remote control (or in some models the remote is built into the wall).
Remote control shades are more aesthetically pleasing to look at than the corded variety, and there are safety concerns with the hanging cord of the non motorized variety, especially if you have young children who may want to play with the cord possibly bringing down the entire shade (which can be dangerous). Even if a child got a hold of the remote to the motorized shades the worse they can do is raise or lower the shades or drain the battery!
Another benefit of the remote control shades variety is that they simply bring on a cool factor. When you invite a date over or friends and hit that remote, a futuristic effect happens that makes people feel like they are in the presence of something fascinating. Robotics seem to make anything feel futuristic, and although remote shades have been around for several decades, it never fails to raise eyebrows when people see them. You can actually get these shades at a reasonable price these days. Prices run from moderate to expensive but depending on the size of your windows you may only need a smaller and less expensive model.
